About Al Quackenbush

I was born and raised in Western New York State. I have hunted and fished for 30+ years and love every second of it. I want to soak up as much of life that is has to offer in the shortest time possible. My dad taught me how to shoot a bow when I was 9 yrs old and I loved going out in the woods with him. He taught me well and I hope to be as good an archery instructor as he was. I am a do-it-yourselfer and hunt hard no matter where I am. The reason I started this blog is because I want to share as much of what I have learned with everyone else.

In 2006, I moved to Southern California for a girl - then I married her. We have a beautiful little girl who watches hunting and fishing shows with me, is learning to shoot a bow and can't wait to go fishing. Maybe someday she'll want to hunt with her old man.

I have a great group of friends who continually make me a better hunter. We swap stories, challenge one another, and help each other out. Back in NY, I have two of the best hunting partners a guy could ask for; my dad and brother. We are constantly swapping stories, discussing gear and planning our next hunting trips together. I always look forward to heading back to NY to hunt with them.

I can be very serious, but I am sarcastic and I love to make people laugh, so that usually gets the best of me. I am always looking to meet new people who want to talk hunting and to swap stories. I would love to build a strong group of hunting friends who can hunt together and also share ideas.

I want to be the best husband, father, hunter and friend that I can be and I feel that sharing what I know will help keep our heritage alive for future generations.
